The DiscoverEU General Call is a competition managed centrally by the European Commission. Those selected through the competition, by answering a short and simple quiz, will win a rail travel pass. Also, those selected will receive the DiscoverEU European Youth Card, with plenty of discounts on cultural visits, learning activities, sports, local transport, accommodation and food. In exceptional cases, and when no other means of transport are available, the option of travelling by plane will be offered. In this way, the possibility to participate in DiscoverEU will be ensured for young people who live in remote areas or on islands such as Cyprus.

Eligible Contest Participants
Individuals who can apply to the DiscoverEU General Call are:
- have reached the age of 18 on the first day of the travel period.
- are citizens of or reside in one of the Member States of the European Union, including the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) or in one of the third countries associated with the Erasmus+ program (North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia and Turkey)

The action is open to individuals or groups of up to 4 people who directly register their interest on the European Youth Portal.
For selected DiscoverEU travellers in each country, Erasmus+ National Services such as the Lifelong Learning IDEP offer opportunities to network, learn and meet other travellers. More information about the MeetUps organized by the National Services can be found here.
